If you just want to be kept abreast of Akitas in need, of HOD activities, and/or of special bulletins, then you can join our monthly bulletin mailing list. If you want to become an active member of HOD - making decisions, helping to plan and organize events, evaluate potential fosters and potential adopters, etc., then consider joining our email list hosted by Yahoo Groups. To become an active member either go through Yahoo Groups to the HOD group and follow the instructions to join, or send the email address you'll use to join the Group to Rachel Peeples, DVM, and an invitation to join the list will be forthcoming.
 
We are an open group and welcome anyone who wishes to participate to do so! We have an administrative council that makes regulatory and business decisions, but all members have an input into what the organization does.
